  1. I know this is the most basic of questions, but I didn't see it in the FAQ so I will ask anyway: I am burning MPEG's on CD-Rs using Roxio easy cd creator 5. Is this a VCD? Or do I need the information in MPEG-2? And are there MPEG to MPEG converters? Thanks for any comments.

  3. Actually, the guide says MPEG 1 is what I want and I think that is what I am burning (it says MPEG). So would this mean the program I am using (adaptec 5) is at fault? Or do I have to prep the file with a specific type of program? Thanks for any comments.

It says MPG on your harddrive, but DAT on the disk. A DAT is an MPG with a little more information tacked onto the beginning. Roxio is very vague, and doesn't actually tell you if it's VCD/SVCD/DVD. Get Nero, you'll be happier. I suspect it reads the MPG information and burns accordingly (hope you encoded to standard)
