If I capture a show to an uncompressed avi in virtualdub, are there any good filters to use? I have no idea what they do. Is it even better to capture to an uncompressed avi than say mjpeg at 100%? Are there any settings I can change on my computer to make it drop less frames because right now I can't capture above 352x240 and it still drops about 30 frames in 20 minutes. I have a piece of garbage tv wonder ve and a 900mhz duron, 256mb. Any Help to getting better quality in encoding, capturing filters, anytinhg would be appreciated.

uncopmressed is the fastest you can get.
Filters clean up the video. Or let you minipulate it however you want.
The only one you may want to use would be a noise reduction is you need it. Maybe a slight smoother, if you are going to compress it. -
I would definately recommend using noise reduction and smooth ilters to remove some of the noise that captured material creates.
