Here it goes again. Just when I thought I solved my recording problems, new ones come up.

For the past few days, whenever I record to a TDK DVD-R (I'm buying these because I had no problems with them), Nero will finish recording, write the lead-out and just hang there. It will not finish, eject and re-load the disk to finish with verification (yes, I do that ).

I have to terminate Nero and shut-down the PC so that the drive get's unlocked. The DVD appears recorded fine and it even plays on DVD-players.

I have this with Nero 5.5.10.7b (but since 2-3 days now). Also tried 5.5.10.15 with the same results. The f/w in the SONY is 1.0g

It's interesting to point out that I DON'T have this problem with DVD+RWs or DVD-RWs.

    Anybody had this problem?
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  2. I have seen this problem among many others using Nero. I think your other post regarding Nero answers this post. Dump Infero and stick with RecordNOW DX, (which I have never used) or that Amazing, Undefeated Champ of burning software, RecordNow Max. 8)

Initially, I could not justify buying a new recording s/w. After all, I had one. Now, well, the times they are REALLY changing...

RecordNow DX appears to be slightly less "complete" compared to Nero. It's lacking features I don't want (such as mpeg encoding ) as well as features I don't know if I want (such as different kinds of UDF formats and ISO/UDF formats). It just has ISO/UDF Bridge and that with Joliet, which, at least at first glance, appears complete for DVD-VIDEO and DVD-ROM. In other words, the program is simpler. Less things to go wrong. Until it proves a failure (which I hope not and believe not - after what I've heard), I love it...
