i know it asking too much...
but could someone please write a avisyth script for something i need?
i just cant get the hang of it no metter what guides i look at.
i have a avi file that is 16:9, 25 fps.
i want to convert it to svcd using avisynth (i have done it many times using virtualdub).
i need it to resize the avi to 480x576 and crop the black bars at the top
and bottom of the movie.
i need it to sharpen the avi (a bit)
i can play with the cropping and sharpenning values so dont be bothered by that, i will change the values so it will fit my needs.
please help me out !!!

Just to clarify - are you saying that the AVI already contains the black borders top & bottom and the viewable video is 16:9 (widescreen).
And you want to convert it to non-widescreen 4:3 (meaning that you will need to crop the top/bottom borders and crop the sides off the video to keep the correct ratio)?.
Or do you want to keep the SVCD in widescreen ? (which means you will need to keep the black bars). -
ok, i didnt explain it well..
it originaly had a 16:9 aspect ratio, but the movie was encoded
WITH the black bars, they are a part of the movie and not just added by the player.
dont ask me why...
what i want to do is - crop the black bars (so i will not waste the bitrate on them), and have the player add the black bars when i play it.HELL AINT A BAD PLACE TO BE -
Try using FitCD or AVS generator. You should easily be able to figure them out. Look under the TOOLS area here, or they are also available at doom9.org in their d/l section.

I understand but I'm not sure you can do that with SVCD, however here are examples of the commands you need.
The crop part explained:AVIsource("video.avi")
ConvertToYUY2()
Crop(0, 100, 700, 300)
sharpen(0.5)
BicubicResize(480,576,0.0,0.6)
cut none from left and take the next 700 pixels as the width,
cut 100 off the top and take the next 300 pixels as the height.
Sharpen has a range of 0 - 1.
Of course you need to plug in your own values. -
thanks all, ill try what you said.
and thanks for the script too
