Hi-
I'm trying to lower the bit rate on a backup from 6.5 to 4.3gig. I have all the VOB files I want to keep and I have ceated a CFFL file for them. The top line is CFFL, followed by the VOBs.
ReMpeg does its thing for a while, then finishes successfully. In the output location, I found only a 600meg .m2v file and no ac3 audio file.
I have tried to use the entire path to the location for each VOB in the CFFL file. e.g., d:\processed\VOB. I have also tried only the VOB w/o a path. I get the same thing.
What am I missing here?
Any help, would be great!![]()
Thanks,
Vince

It all depends on what you're trying to accomplish:
ReMpeg doesn't ouput an ac3 file. For the video file size, be sure to have the bitrate % correct and that ReMpeg is actually encoding every VOB file.
If you want to re-author then rip (demux the audio & video) with DVDDecryptor. This will produce .m2v & .ac3 files. Then load your .m2v file into ReMpeg and encode. After ReMpeg is complete, use DVDMaestro (or any authoring program you have available) to author.
Otherwise, if you're using the Ifoedit method, then let Ifoedit create the .cffl file for you and then load that into ReMpeg. After ReMpeg is complete, remux the new encoded .m2v file back into the VOBs using Ifoedit.
I recommend the re-author method because the output is cleaner and more compatible.
Good Luck
