Question: what program can I use to create reverse loops without affecting the size, aspect ration, and quality of the videos?

I have some small video clips that I want to play around with, and using Premiere CS4, I cannot get it to output the 5MB file without blowing it up to 400MB. I tried different settings and it's always the same. The original aspect ratio of 640x352 is now 740x480 but the picture looks smaller on my monitor.

I just want something that works without changing the original aspect ration and size of the file.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. cs4 is an editor for dv hdv and other un or lightly compressed source material. it doesn't really like working with output type compressed formats but will usually accept them grudgingly. did you try setting the project properties to whatever the source material format is?

Yes, I tried various settings from custom aspect ratio to codecs, but the results were large file sizes and smaller pictures. Is there a program that work well with avi files that allows me to add effects like reverse loop?

If you want 640x352, set your project to 640x352.

It will need to be decompressed.

When I first start up Premiere CS4, there are two pop up windows asking for various presets. One of those windows has the option to enter a custom aspect ratio, and I entered 640x352, but the final product still had a higher aspect ratio. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Can you show where I need to input this preset?

Did you specify square pixels in the New Project menu?

I don't have CS4 but I may be able to simulate if nobody else responds.
