  2. Just give it a shot!

seems you ordered it anyway and didn't do a lot of research for best ripping speed. My EPO / Maddog still seems to be unbeaten for speed and
    being region free as is.

Good luck! I guess only an owner of a DVD-120 can provide actual speed information.

Is that drive available in the UK? How much did you pay for it
and finally what ripping speeds are you getting from it?

    Many thanks

  6. Not completely sure.....

I've done some search in Yahoo UK but couldn't find it. It's also sold as a Teco / Relisys but I've seen that those have the RPC activated. Mine was /is sold in the US by CompUSA as MadDog 16xDVD.
However the ripping speed is great. Ripped yesterday a movie at 9.3x average and 12.3x max.

  8. It's not a MadDog (stupid name anyway, isn't it?) but an EPO-8216. MadDog just markets the drive for CompUSA. Similar to Cendyne for Pioneer DVD burners. Something US specific....

It might be sold in the UK under a different brand name and it might then not be region free as it is from MadDog.
    Do a little research with Yahoo.... +EPO +DVD +8216 or also w/o the +EPO.
