  1. Hi
I have converted an avi (Divx) to VCD with the correct template of the tmpgenc (VCD PAL) but the final mpeg has a problem: the video stops for a second or two but the sound goes on. It occurs every four or five minutes. Then the mpeg works OK (video and sound) but a few minutes later it happens again.
The original avi is OK and in my PC the mpeg is OK too, but not in my TV DVD player

    Any suggestion?

  2. I'm having a similar problem. I'm burning dvd using ulead dvd workshop and the converted mpeg2 file has audio sync problems. In my problem, the audio skips back about 10 seconds, but the video keeps going, which of course leaves the audio behind by about 10 seconds.

In your case, it sounds like your dvd player is having trouble playing it. If the audio and video stays in sync after the video stops, then maybe the player just has trouble reading the information for a second.

Yes, I'm sure muy dvd has problem only for a few seconds but I can watch perfectly the others VCDs so I think it's a problem of the conversion
    divx to mpeg
    ¿?

  4. Same problem I had, I DL and encoded Gangs of New York and the Picture froze and audio kept going. My player and from the sounds of it your player is fine.

I took the original avi and ran it thru tmpgenc again...i noticed the frame right after where the pictrure froze seemed to be bad...it was black and tmpgenc seemed to have problem with it as it was causing the program to report errors and crash. Im going to try and rerun the encode with 1 or two frames after where the pix froze cut out.

I'll let you all know how this turns out.

The above is only speculation and my own personal best guess.
