  1. Help!
I transfered 1hr of digital video from my Panasonic digital camera via a Safeway firewire card onto my harddrive as windows avi file (DV). I then burnt as a SVCD to a 700Mb disk using Nero 5.5.
It played ok on Cyberhome DVD standalone player & on PC. Whilst trying to edit using Windows movie player I managed to erase completey from hard drive (tried recovery software but must of overwritten).
OK I thought I'll re-burn from CD. In trying this Nero says there's a read error, although I have managed to copy contents onto hard drive.
    1. Is there any way I can re-burn using the file named Avseq01.mpg (within Mpegav folder)?
    2. How can this file be 734Mb when the disk is only 700 ??
    3. Will the file be damaged as Nero can't read to burn from ???

Somebody please help as It's the only copy I have of my little girls 1st activity play at school and thought it would be safer on a cd then VHS tape.

  2. this is a tricky process.. to get it back on you pc to edit, you must convert it back to avi...if you just want to make a copy of the cd, burn an image file to the hard drive and then burn the image back to a new cd..... as for why 734mb will fit on 700mb cd is because video is in x2a mode which saves no disk space for error correction...
