Hi guys. I'm wondering if you guys can help me with something. I recently bought a Samsung Yepp mp3 player, and all of a sudden, I get an I/O device error:

Any ideas? The device seems to be recognized by Win XP all right.

Doesn't look like the Yepp is what's having the problem.

I take that back. What I thought was the Yepp is actually the installation CD (drive E. Have you tried removing and reinserting it (stop it before you remove it).

Yup, I've tried that. I tried re-installing the USB driver as well, and that had no effect.

It's puzzling b/c I've used another MP3 player, from Hong Kong, off and on for months and never encountered such an error.

I'd say try it on another PC to see if you get the same issue. You might also need to run a Check on that drive. It could be a file system error.

I tried it on a different PC, and the same error occurred.

You might try Samsung's support site.

I fixed it. I reformatted the drive using the Yepp software...which is just about the last thing that I wanted to do: I lost three very important lectures, including one that was review for an upcoming test. >.<
