Really lame question. I just can't remember

I'm trying to help my sister-inlaw with her computer. She has Nero 5.5.9.14. Nero is not picking up her CDR drive. I've instructed her to get the newest ASPI 4.7 ( if that matters ). She installed it and still nothing. If there is a fix can you let me know. Thanks Josh

Try seeing if there is a firmware upgrade for your sister-in-law's CD Burner. Firmware upgrades can sometime help Nero recognize your CD Recorder.

has she used nero before?
if not check the web site and see if it suports the drive.

Is it a CDRom drive (read only) or a CR-RW drive (read and write)?

Is she using the Nero that came with her drive? If she is using a version someone gave her it may have the wrong manufacture drive interface enabled. Find a copy for her drive(Sony, Yamaha, LG, etc) or go to Nero and get the serial number(purchase) that enables the interface for all drive types.
