    If you are sure the right codecs are installed and it still won't work try re-installing them, could be bad.

  6. I don't know where to install them from, whether they came with the pc or downloaded from somewhere. I am not that technical.

    semms you're not even a user

    let's make things a little bit simpler... can you play the file with windows media player?

    yes -> codecs are installed
    no -> codecs are not installed

    nevertheless, i figure what you mean could be "MS Mpeg 4 Version 3" and if so, i'm afraid it might be a .asf file, and if so further, you will not be able to open it in tmpgenc.

    if it is an .avi file, you might want to get a "fourcc changer" (-> don't ask me where to get one, ask google please) so you can change the format to divx or xvid.
    after that (and if you have a divx/xvid codec installed) you can open the file in tmpgenc.

    bye,
