I have two Operating systems running on my PC and before I go ahead and (potentially) mess either of them up, I just wanted to know if having already installed EasyCD or Nero, will installing VCDEasy with either of them cause any conflicts.
The search that I carried out on the forum seemed to suggest not but couldn't give me a definite yes or no.
My operating systems are:
Windows 98, using Easy CD (used mainly for music compilations and converting Wav to MP3)
Windows XP (ntsc), using Nero (used mainly for VCDs, CD copies and data discs).
My CD drive is a Lite-On purchased in November last year.
The obvious answer would be to test it on Windows 98, but reformats take so long don't they!![]()
Thanks.

If this helps a little, I have RecordNowMax DX, Nero and VCDEasy installed on my computer running Windows XP Home Edition. I've had and/or experienced no problems whatsoever. VCDEasy even gives you the choice of which aspi drivers (Adaptec or Nero) to utilize. (I was even able to burn using the "CDRAO" function of VCDEasy with no problems. Just had to figure out which drivers to use which were the generic MMC ones.) Anyways...I compared the clips I burned with VCDEasy to the ones I burned using Nero and felt the Nero burned clips looked slightly better (less pixelized). Hope this helps to eliminate a couple of potential conflicts.

Yes, VCDEasy uses CDRDAO, which is just a CD writing command line tool, that doesn't install any strange stuff - as neighbor friendly as any app could be. It (al least the ver I have) requires a workin aspi layer, and that may or may not interfere with existing cd writing applications.
You don't have to use VCDEasy for burning - just create the cue/bin, and burn that with the app your comfortable with, like Nero. When it comes to authoring, you can't even compare Nero to VCDEasy!

I run the Nero/VCDEasy combination on multiple systems, both Windows 2000 and Windows XP. I have never had a problem related to the two programs conflicting with each other. I have and have heard of Nero and EZCD Creator being installed on the same system and having conflicts.

Thanks for the help you lot.
I think though, after jester1x's comments about picture quality, I should give it a miss. The quality of my (X)VCDs burned using Nero are excellent and I suppose in the end the picture quality of what one wants to watch matters over chapters.Cole -
I don't doubt jester1x's judgement, but to me, that sounds as likely as that a Word file would look better when printed out on paper if it was written to the CD with app A than if app B was used to write it to CD...
