For burning software, is ImgBurn still the most preferred? I know the new Roxio is pretty good now for burning.

Imgburn is still the best. Roxio is bloatware.

  3. Speaking of ImgBurn... I believe at one time it installed some kind of toolbar (or adware?) during installation. Does anyone know if it still does this?

It may ask you during the install, you can decline and just get the program.

ImgBurn use to let me burn a DVD even if it was over the limit of space. Now it gives me an error. I have a DVD that's 4.7GB, which is a little over. Usually it would still burn but you might cut off the ending which is usually just the credits anyway. Now it gives an error once the copy finishes and it wont play in my player.

Really? If the specs were close enough to the DVD file size, even if it was a little over. ImgBurn would still burn the disc. The disc will still play in my older DVD/VHS combo player for some reason, but not the new blu-ray player once I get the error.

I know Nero used to allow for overburning on some formats, but of course this is a risky proposition and overburned discs don't play in all players. I don't recall Imgburn allowing, however because I work to spec, rather than penny pinching, it isn't something I would have tried or used anyway.
