    Greetings -

I'm trying to back up "Nosferatu", and it's causing me problems.

I've been using DVD Decrypter for DVD-5 backups with no problem, and I've used DVD2One for DVD-9 backups with great success.

But Nosferatu is just over 4.75 Gb. When I rip the movie files with DVD Decrypter, it pulls out an .ifo and .vobs totalling 3.5 Gb, so it will fit on a disc, but when I make VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders (like I do with stuff I've converted with DVD2One) it doesn't "behave"... it won't start playing, and in my Apex player I got a folder list that I had to drill into to play the .vobs

So obviously I'm missing something... but what? Should I run DVD2One on these files, even though they are already under the 4.7Gb limit? Does DVD2One do something else besides transcoding the video?

Is there another step I can take, or another tool I can use? I'd rather not reencode or transcode, as the files are small enough already, and I don't want to go through the time and degradation of a useless process.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. You need to rebuild the IFO files so they would play, otherwise they are dead vobs on a disc... You can use DVD2ONE... that program will just rip and fix the IFO files for you, or you can use IFOEdit to create IFO files for you... To me, both programs will take the same amount of time...

thanks for the info. I ran DVD2One on it and it works, with only a slight reduction in file size.
