    I bought one disc but it is only 1x speed. Is 2x available?

    In theory, you can find 2x DVD-RW disks. I have never seen any. As far as re-writables go, the fastest is DVD+RW and, thank GOD, they come with a min. of 2.4X so there is a decent rewritable medium around.
