  1. I am experiencing problems burning Ritek dvdr's when I burn as an iso data cd. ON the dvd I am putting a variaty of movies,
it seems that every one of the last movies burned to the disc is fu<ked and will not play. I can not even copy it to my hard drive or acess it?
Why is this, I am using a pioneer a04 with 1.31 so I can burn at 2x, but even at 1x the last movie on the dvd doesnt work.

    please let me know, thanks

BTW, the 7/Y falls in the byte pattern that defines the Write Strategy for the disc, so that indicates they are of a different dye composition at the very least. So either they are of lower grade, or the Pioneer firmware can't handle this write strategy very well. (It's bytes 11-14 of the 0Eh page if anyone cares).

Raedon: i have a new shipment of riteks and they are fine. My friend has a 100 pack of the P Y ones and he only burns at 1x so they have been zero problems. I've burned Y's in the past at 2x according to some looking back though burned disk and never even noticed it. I dont really think its an issue. I'm not saying they are the same quality but its close enough that I've not noticed a difference until someone said there was one.

Riteks are not very good for PS2, Verbatims are more along the lines of what you will need.

Just making sure here.. you have burned this EXACT coded Ritek with a Pioneer DVD-R?

All the Ritek's I've had didn't have the 7 and they have all worked great.. People who are burning coasters in Pioneer drives were using these new discs.

I bought two of these discs (exact same code) in a sample pack and both burned perfectly in my Pioneer 105.

it seem like you all wasting your time and money with RITEKS. imagine the time and the movies you have lost. y not just buy good brand name in your local store that may only cost as little as 10 or 20cents more. you buying quality with good return policy. also to help your local economy

Never had a bad disc and so far I have bought 300. I did buy 15 Verbatim discs at BestBuy that proved to be defective in the last 500MB of the discs.

  19. Just ignore jacknit, according to him, all unbranded media is crap.

Anyway, I've had the same issues with Ritek G03's recently, I forgot which media code it was. The end of the disc would skip and freeze. I switched to DUP-EZ DVD from Rima(silver tops, white tops comming in this week). No problems so far with silver tops, burns all 4.3gigs flawlessly.
