I have read many forums and the ratings of different capture cards on this site, but I still don't have a sure bet picked out for a capture card. I will be putting several 8mm analog movies on dvd and until my camera wears out, about one tape a year. I don't want to spend a fortune to do this , I have been considering an Ati vivo , Aver dvd ezemaker, the ti4200 vivo cards. will I be able to get good quality dvd's with these or do you have any suggestions. I would be willing to spend about $150.00 max. Thanks Hudson

Hi
I have the AverTv Studio card.
I get great results from my 8mm camera.

I would give a firewire card and a new D8 camera a thought. That way you can capture w/great quality. The card wud cost maybe 100$ but you would need to buy a new camera too, maybe for 500-700$.

I highly recommend some type of firewire route, eg MiniDV, D8, Canopus
