  1. I have a Pioneer A05 DVD burner, and tried DVD-RW and DVD-R to burn video. I have a big problem with burning DVD-R, it appears that there is a fuzzy white ring on the DVD-R and when I play it on a standalone DVD player, it freeze at that point. I have 3 coasters from the problem, the white ring is not at the same location each time. When I burn on a DVD-RW, it works everytime.

Can anyone suggest any idea why that would happen??

The DVD-R media i used were Princo and Opticodisc

    Thanks guys.

It could be your media. I have the Pioneer A05, I only use Ritek, Maxell or Pioneer and have never had this problem. Could be a faulty burner also, but I wouldn't think that if the RW disc is burning fine.

  5. It could also be that your Stand alone likes -RW, but hates -R Some DVD players will only play -RW, just like some only play -R, Mine plays both, but if I wanna play a VCD it has to be on CD/RW media even pressed ones won't play, well they play but have lines all cross and are B/W, but rw if fine. Some players are picky

  6. Thanks guys, I guess I have to search for another kind of media, we have limited choices in Toronto Canada here and the prices are quite expensive too... the -RW cost about $4cad and the -R is about $2.00.

I am going to try burn data on the DVD-R and see I have the same problem.

    Thanks guys.
