The CD-writer is Richoh MP7400A 40x10x40x. When I use Nero to write the movie files in avi formats into Video disk, I encounter the following problems :

    1. The movie picture is upside down and reverse.

    or

    2. The screen of the movie picture is stretched from top to bottom, making the vision lean and long in the screen.

    or

    3. The size of the file after encoding by Nero is outside the 750Mb range.

Is there a special Nero Avi plug-in to correct these defects?

  2. you should use a program that was made to convert movies, not Nero, whose main function is to burn cd's. Use TMPGEnc, that'll solve all your problems.

  3. I started the same way you did. And I've had the same problems (except upside-down) but you really should work with TMPGEnc and VirtualDub. Your (S)VCD will a have a better quality!
But to get rid of those way to big files you will have to save that avi new (with the help of virtualdub) because you've probably got a VBR audio. Check out those other forums to see what to do else come back to me...

I did a search in past threads of this forum and found these topics- avi to mpeg but with upside picture & Converting avi to mpg problems Follow the instruction.
Converting avi to mpeg by using TMPGenc failed. The error message was “counldn’t locate decompressor for format ‘MP43’ (microsoft High speed MPEG-4 V3). Also failed in opening the avi in virtualdub.
    Any help!

You need the mpeg4 v3 codec, I think it is usually found as part of a "codec pack.". If you don't have the same codec that a file was encoded with, then you cannot play or convert the file. Gspot is a good program for detecting any required codecs. Gspot and codecs are found in the Tools section.
