    does dvdxcopy make your backups region free?

    It copies exactly what you give it. So if you extracted the files off the DVD with region free option, thats what you'll get. If not, then you'd have to use IFOedit later after the extraction, and fix the ifo. It requires more time and technique, so do it right the first time.
