  1. Hello there , im new to the forum and just wondered if anybody could give me some advice.
Are the ps2 or xbox dvd+rw compatable, if i was to make a backup copy of an original game on a dvd+rw disc would it be playable in either of the consoles , and if so what would i need to play it , boot disc , mod chip etc etc. Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

  2. According to the DVD Players section of this site (on the left hand sinde panel of this site) both are compatible with DVD+RW.

  3. Dont quote me, but from my experiance with ps1 games, and having read a few articals about backing up ps2 games, although a dvd+rw would be recognised by the consol, you cant get around the boot protection.

This means you need a mod chip (so you cant flog your copies on ebay as originals) to play the games.

It is possible to play them using an action replay disk as a boot disk, but you need to physicaly alter your ps2 so you can change disks without pressing ejcect - NOT recommended.

  4. My xBox will play MP3s on a DVD +R. A couple of problem prevent me from backing up the games. #1 The games I have are dual layer DVD9 and wouldn't fit an a 4.37GB DVD +R. #2 I've heard that there is firmware pressed into disk itself. I was able to backup a DVD game that is xBox compatable. (Dragons Lair) But that's not a console game. It's a DVD that can be played on any DVD player.
