    I am looking for a tool that let's me convert animated gifs to mpg or avi.
    Any idea, folks?

    swish or maybe also flick , also perhaps gif animation studio (might export to avi) .. paint shop pro gif animation app can extract the frames . then you can encode frames with something else ..
    also adobe image ready ..
