Convert mpg to animated gif fpr avatar

Hello,

I want to convert an mpg file to an animated gif to use as an avatar. (Not on this forum).

Can someone please suggest a prog to do this? I had one awhile back but cant remember what it was called and have since wiped it.

I use Gif Movie Gear.

Microsoft GIF Animator is free...

Virtualdub 1.7.2 has a gif maker built in (1.7.3 it was taken out) but you'll need another program to fix the files cause they seem corrupt.
