Xbox Playing DivX

I just read on this site that the xbox can play DivX files. SO i juts burn the DivX movie on a dvdr as DATA?

Also i dont have a modchip. Do i need one for this to work?

Could you tell me any good ones that arnt hard to install. Ive never soder before. Do they make the no soder ones yet? if so where the cheapest place to buy?

A modified chip is required (eg. executer 2), but the situation seems to be very confused:
do i need the xbox media player? How to simply install xbmp? Do i need the EvolutionX software?
