    Hey All,

    Hope everyone's great.

I sent a not along to DJRumpy to on this topic, but I also wanted to see if anyone else had had any similar experiences.

I have authored up a few full projects in Maestro. They have all been rendered out, to their respective aud / vid TS ddirectories.

From here, I have been using Nero to burn out the files in UDF 102.

To test these clips prior to burning them out, I load the IFO into my DVD player. The movies and buttons all play and behave perfectly.

However, after burning in Nero, half of the buttons will not work. So Nero appears to not be burning what it is given correctly.

The buttons that worked on the hard drive version work, on the drive only, but not once those same files are transferred to DVDR, they do not.

Could this be just the media used ????? Or does anyone have any other clues. I was using KHypermedia discs. Dare I try it as a Data CD in Roxio EZ CD CR 6 ?!?! Or I also have Prassi Primo DVD v 2.5, however it will not let me pick my DVR 105 for the recorder ?!?!?!

    Thanks everyone for any help

  2. Spidey,
Hope this isn't a dumb question but did you assign all the buttons in Maestro? I burned 2 coasters before I realized I had not assigned actions for each buttons. I also tried the video_ts folder with my Windvd and it played perfectly. But ofcourse it didn't work on the standalones. I'm not a fan of nero, but I would bet it is probably an authoring issue rather then burning. Just a thought.

    Dunno why with NERO:
did you do both DVD VIDEO and DVD DATA (UDF 1.02) burns?

But here PRASSI will recognize your drive:

You can properly assign the buttons in Maestro, and the result will work in a computer DVD player because you can move the mouse pointer over the button. My guess is that you didn't assign any button navigation to the individual buttons so that you could use the cursor keypad, or buttons on your DVD player's remote.

Go to the BUTTONS panel in your menu screens, highlight the first button, then assign the next button for cursor movement.

Oh, one more thing... NERO doesn't affect the buttons at all. It just burns what you have compiled.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I do agree totally with everyone said. However, I did do all the button mapping. That's where I was totally stumped. To ensure it was following it, I did not even use the mouse to navigate but the button pad......

I burned out the exact same files now in Prassi, and guess what it worked like a charm

So it had to be Nero. In talking to DJRumpy, he had said that if you do not have the exact image fixed in your background / top layer of your overlay, Nero will not transfer that type of routing, even though it's authored into the disc's compilation.

That's all I can see as the issue, since I used Prassi on the same files, and it came out perfect. The only difference between the 2 burns, obviously is the burning program, but I used a Khypermedia on the Nero, and a Princo on the Prassi Primo. I can't think the media could've screwed up the button's functions, but that is the only other differeing factor.

If anyone has more ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks guys

How did PRASSI use your PIONEER DRIVE?
    Did it require the upgrade.?
I'm asking, because the upgrade went well on one machine, but the other still doesn't see the drive (A-04 here at work),
but I still am recommending the upgrade

    Hi Bud,

The project that I have burnt out I did without installing the upgrade. The other version of Prassi I'd gotten, I think v 2.089, did see my DVR 105, while my original 2.5 did not.

I did do the upgrade late last night, but haven't checked it again since doing so.

It's safe to say I hope it does see it though !!!! LOL !!!!!

Also, I had another question, in Prassi, when you add your video and audio TS directories to burn out, can you add another directory in the dvd's root to store jpg's etc ? Or will that mess it up ?

    i.e.

    DVD Root

    \VIDEO_TS\ disc contents
    \AUDIO_TS\ 'empty'
    \INFO\ jpgs, txts, etc....

Thanks and hope you're having a great one !!!!

The only way I've been able to ad non-dvd content is to use NERO and Ignore the system prompts about an unplayable disc..
That is you need to know what you're doing specifically won't screw things up! -when you add these items...

I not sure I remember it corrrectly, but I think PRASSI just wouldn't burn when addded material was there

SPRUCE UP has a button in the BURN & CREATE dialog that allows you to add a seperate folder of "DVD-ROM" content..but I haven't used that one either

Specifically, I've encountered Nero's message when my VIDEO_TS's had extra files from the authoring program (SPRUCEUP)that weren't strictly "SPEC" but these DVD's always play in SETTOPS and COMPUTER hen burned DVD-UDF in NERO..

It did not like the addition of that extra "info" dir at all

It really tanked the disc, so it looks like I have a coaster to use for the weekend Cheers all

    Have a great one

    "NERO is a ZERO"
by the way is it 5.5.17? or HIGHER (i hear .19 is out)

but mostly -I've heard 5.5.10 and less is ng for DVD creation

that's interesting. my first bad burn I originally spoke of was using 5.5.10.0 since then I upgraded to 5.5.10.15a

but who can keep up with them.......

Plus, my goal is to just simply find a method that works, and unless Nero wishes to pay me for the coasters it's creating, I'd prefer to not take a chance as to will this revision work, or maybe this one, etc.....

The Prassi is working extremely well, so I think I may stick with it.

Hope all's great with you Bud. Survive the snow
