I am new to backing up my DVD library and have a few questions for you pros out there.
Some info on my tools - Dell 2.4, 512 RAM, liteon DVD-rom, Sony DRX-500UL.
1. I ripped "Sweet Home Alabama" using the liteon LTD163 on my Dell and it took 15 minutes total. Is this a fairly good time and if not would updating my firmware help?
2. I have yet to use any utility to get it to fit on one DVD, which one delivers the best results (by best results I mean picture quality, not necessarily having all the extras on the disc, but if there is not a huge significant loss in picture quality by having all the extras then I would prefer to have them)? I am leaning towards using InstantCopy since most of the posts are positive. (Time is not necessarily a problem)
3. After encoding, can I just use Nero to burn the DVD or is there a better utility? (I have seen several posts about Nero being not so good, but I have used it + DVD Workshop to author and burn DV movies to DVD media and gotten all the DVD-R discs to play back on my PS2 and Sony DVD player).
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.
