We've just got in our first shipment of Pinnacle Instant Copy. I know many of you guys are familiar with this product from before Pinnacle purchased Steinberg. What do you think of it? Are there any technical issues you can tell me about it?
We are going to be running a promotion with the DVR-A05 burner
http://www.videoguys.com/pioneer.html and I'm hoping that I can learn a little more about it here. I searched through the posts here and it looks like it's getting the job done. We'll also be carrying the Instant CD/DVD bundle when it becomes available soon.
Thanx,
Gary

yeah...the verdict isn't out yet.... A few navigational issues but I'd imagine in a couple of weeks or so hopefully will nail it down as to exactly what works and what doesn't. However, the sheer amount of dvds with streamless branching, layer breaks, infinifilms (sp?) or whatever may cause issues. One could say just keep all titles, etc. (don't use registry trick) then you won't run into any issues. But then you may not be satisfied with the quality of video depending on the size of the extras.

btw yes I've read a few of your informatvie reviews on various high end items and thoroughly enjoyed them. good job[/url] -
I really like the program, the best feature in my opinion is if the main movie and menu and 1 audio track is under 4.37 gb, instant copy simply reauthors it with no encoding and working menu.
-
It seems to be a really good program in my opinion but if the iso is under 4.37gb I would recommend using DVDdecrypter. DVDdecrypter in iso mode will create an iso that can be burned as an exacy copy without the need for instantcopy.

I use Instant Copy for episodic DVD9s like Sopranos & Band of Brothers. Most of the time I use DVD2One though.

Sorry guys but instantcopy doesnt work properly... Matrix feature (the rabbit) doesnt work in the copy, and only entglish sound apears, Disc 2 os Jordan Ultimate Edition cant be done because recompression pops up and even if you try to reduce it it says its too big... Even pressing F5

Hello,
I wanted to know how did you guys get full access to Instant copy, because I cant do anything with my demo. Also, if i use Instant copy on dvd 9 that has episodes on it, do i just do it regularly as I would for a regular movie or do i have to split up each episode or something. One more question, what happens when it reads the dvd and tries to extract it but then it stops and say that the data is protected. how would i resolve this to make it work.
Thanks. -
I installed it in my system with my ATI AIW 9700 and it messed up my mpeg2 playback, all jerky and stuttering video. Windvd still plays fine, only the ATI player. Mpeg1 files are fine though. I had to use the system restore function as the uninstall did not fix it.

Well so far I think its quite ok, sometimes the bitrate has alot to be desired but thats what U get for a program for £40 or so. It appears to have some issues with ntsc titles & subs being transposed wrongly but if U remove them its fine. Done 3 tests on NTSC & well its just crap & dvd2one is alot better at the us stuff!!! Anyway what is going on with dvd2one its alot worse than the first version!! picture quality appear more grainy!!!!!! was there any code changed does anyone know????
Kev! -
I deleted it.
Instant Copy is too slow.
If I have a very long movie like private ryan - I hand roll it in CCE and
author in maestro.
If it's a gig over the limit, then DVD2one is great and FAST.
I personally could careless about menus and extras, waste of disk space
and my time. -
Thanx for the feedback.
I think we will do OK with it. It sounds like it gets teh job done for most users. I'm also going to look into the other titles you guys mentioned.
