  1. Hi! Well, this one was my first vcd and it doesn't seem to work...

the files were edited with Adobe Premier, encoded with Panasonic Mpeg and burnt with Nero5 in VideoCD-Format... for me as a newbie, the structure of the cd seems ok, but the disk properties show just 2,18 MB of used space, but the dat-files are 575 MB large...something doesn't seem right to me...

When i try to play the vcd in mplayer2, mediaplayer, rvcdplayer or HeroDVD, it say's that the file format is not supported, but it seems to work on a standalone player...

What's the problem? I use a LiteOn DVD-Rom (LTD163), but it works perfectly with dvd's... i'd be glad if anyone could help...

That is normal, sounds like you have made your VCD correctly

Right click on the dat file, and select open with. Then choose media player. Media player should now play the dat file.

  3. If you get yourself some DVD playing software,(or possibly some that comes with modern-day graphics cards), eg:WinDVD you should be able to play it fine on your PC,with it appearing as it does already on your DVD player.

  4. well, as i said, i tried the MediaPlayer in any version (there's the older mplayer2.exe and the newer mediaplayer.exe) and various dvd-players which all should support vcd... i'm pretty pissed, where to go with my simpsons episodes now?
