I tried the VCD header trick and after multiplexing the SVCD in tmpge and selecting VCD (non-standard) I get a warning that says, "545580 s packet cause buffer underflow. When I try to play in Media Player i see all sorts of green squares covering 90% of the screen. Audio is fine but the video is garbage. Do you have any suggestions or know of any guides that may be able to help me.
Thanks in advance,

I say give up. VCD header trick is nothing but troubles. If someone can help you and you get underway VCD headering it up thats just great, but most likely you'll just end up falling ill and dieing young from undue stress messing around with the trick. Just give it up and convert to VCD (XVCD preferably) it could save your life.

Thanks for the advice, VCD is easy but I'm a glutton for punishment and i've read all over the place that SVCD is better, but maybe you're right i only have a crappy 19" TV anyways.

What version of TMPGEnc are you using?
The latest version's MPEG Tools has some problems dealing with non-standard VCD - mainly due to it's use of padding audio/video streams to standard bitrate even though VCD Non-standard has been selected.
I keep the latest version of TMPGEnc for encoding, and also have Version 2.510 which i use for de-multiplex and re-multiplex.
Try an older version of TMPGEnc
If you can't find a download link for an old version post again and i'll send you the old version that i'm using.

I'm using version 2.59.47.155. Are you saying that an older version will be able to allow me to multiplex an SVCD as VCD (non-standard)? If I install an older version of TMPGE will my new one still work?
Thanks in advance,This is so much fun! -
after you run the multiplex, Windows Media Player still won't play it properly. just burn it and everything should work fine.

Just ignore the error. The video will be fine. I've burned every one of mine with that error and they all play fine. Stop using WMP to view the videos, it is a POS. Use PowerDVD or WinDVD. The latest version of TMPGenc(2.510?) will not give you this error, but in my experience has caused audio/video synch problems. I went back to the previous version.

Fixed: In the MPEG setting dialog window, System tab, chosing MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard) would in fact select the MPEG-1 Video-CD setting.
I'm downloading the latest version now - hopefully my xVCDs will work at last.

Should I burn using Nero's super VCD template or the regular VCD template?
Thanks in advance,This is so much fun! -
Assuming you're using this trick because your DVD player won't play SVCDs then burn using Nero's regular VCD template. Nero will probably warn about formats and such, just ignore it and burn.
