  1. Hi gang, I did some searching before post, so I apologize if this is answered elswhere...I found some kinda similar posts but not exactly. The search mode and repeat A-B are not working on my SVCD burns when played on my Pioneer DV-343. They DO work on a VCD burn. I am using TMPGEnc 12i standard SVCD template to encode and Nero 5.5.4.0. to burn. I do have FF and RW ok on SVCD burn.

Should they work and if so, is it something in TMPGEnc, Nero, or the Pioneer DV-343? Or am I just out'a luck?

    Thanks for the help!

I'm no expert on this yet, but with SVCD, I would give TSCV a try (or perhaps other VCDImager GUIs) to update scan offsets, and make a bin/cue file...

I just recently found, with my Apex and SVCD, that I have to remux streams with TMPGEnc (not bbMPEG, as people on the forum will tell you, it creates a VERY odd timescale), and use VCDImager to update SVCD scan offsets. With both of these done, I got a nearly perfect timescale for GOTO search (up to 100 minutes), which should apply to A-B, etc also. TSCV also allows for you to specify chapter points if you like, or just specifying what you want the Next/Previous buttons to do... better way than NERO regardless.

The Pioneer may be a whole different animal... like I said, I'm no expert on this yet. Still trying to get some "straight answers" out on how to get EXACT synch, EXACT chaptering, EXACT timescale...

  3. forget about having a working GOTO or RESUME on your pioneer player for SVCD's... that's something that simply isn't supported on those players...

the only thing you can do is to make use of entrypoints which allow you to jump in the middle of the track with the help of PBC..
