    Hi
    Simple question.
    I am creating 352 x 576 Pal 2520 Bitrate 48hz SVCDs.

Which resolution should I capture at ??

    352 x 576?
    480 x 576?
    704 x 576?
    720 x 576?

    Cheers

I would capture at the highest resolution that you can then resize down to 1/2 D-1.

You can reduce some video artifacts this way such as noise.

  3. If you have the space and processing power and are not capping direct to MPEG2 then cap at 704x576 then in the edit/encode go to 352x576 for a bit better quality.

Sorry I am capping to mpeg2.

And at 8000 bitrate my captures look awesome and according to task manger I am only using 70% CPU
Any of those resolutions look good at that bitrate.
I was just wondering if I am gaining anything by using full resolution.
I am talking about capture from TV and camcorder not video specifically.
