    if i encode in TMPEnc then edit in video studio 6 does it encode again seems once i put it through video studio the quality changes . if i load all the transitions into my storyboard it wont let me save & exit to tmpgenc without rendering . all to confusing

  2. Edit 1st, encode afterwards for best quality and easiest editing.

    If you edit mpeg's and addtransitions etc, almost any program will have to re-encode to generate the new video. If you edit the avi, most programs will only encode the new bits and splice them into your avi so not reducing quality.
