  1. HI is there any free programs out there that can backup my harddisk data to CDRW? Data like Bookmarks for IE and Netscape - Date in MyDocument and etc...

  3. I think he means something that will save his system settings, like cookies, themes, bookmarks, wallpaper etc... I know this can be done manually, maybe he doesn't know how....

  4. I Think I recall some backup program that knows specificly how to do that, I don't remember the name, but try something like BackupNow or something similiar to it.

    Yea, it's NTI's Backup Now! that does that (backup exec also said they could, but when I checked they had terrible burner support so that takes them out of the running). CDRW backup is common enough(check out download.com for other ones), but I haven't seen a program that handles backup to DVD yet so it's back to the drag and drop burning.

    By the way, all of the CDRW backup programs I've seen are slow as hell... they write in packet mode and end up taking about 4x as long as just burning a CDRW in disc at once mode. You'd almost get a faster backup if you used the backup program to backup to 650MB volumes on your HD and then burn each one to a disc in disc at once mode (except that would be more of a pain to restore from).
