Hi I was hoping those of you who have a Pioneer 105 can suggest some good media to use with it. Stuff that works well and plays in most Tv top DVD players.
Cheap disks: what cheaper media have you used that works well? Where did you buy it and what did it cost for how many?
Easy to find disks: What media works well that may be a little more expensive but you can find it easily at stores like Bestbuy, Target and Walmart? More name brand type media.
The reason I ask these questions is because I have not yet purchased any DVD-R media for my 105 yet. But before I go out and buy a spindle of 100 online somewhere I'd like to know what works well and at what speed?
The second question is about me running out to the store to buy media quickly when I need it. But it also has to work well with the burner. And hopefully be under $2 a disk.
Thanks

Wow 157 views and no replies. You mean to tell me that no one has ever bought any good cheap for this burner?

I have a 104 which is basically the same drive except yous does 4x. if you donty mind not burning at 4x I have used accu discs from www.cdrdvdrmedia.com they are pretty cheap and can burn at 2x. apparently these discs are actually sony discs.

I have the same question as you. I bought the Cedyne 105 machine.
Although I don't have a direct answer regarding the cheap stuff, I have been reading a lot about the Ritek 4X's. In some of the posts for the machine itself several peoples have said that they work great. In fact the Ritek 4X's are so popular now that they are hard to find. You have to mail/web order that.
Been reading bad things about the Princo stuff.
Easy to find: I used the TDK 2X with great success. This I found at Comp USA, and Staples.
There is a forum for media. Lot's to learn there. -
Thanks
Boy now I look like an idiot. I didn't even see the "Media" forum. -

They work PERFECTLY in my Pioneer 105 - zero coasters and hundreds of DVDs burned. Enjoy!!-MPB/AZ -
well I leave in Greece and I have the a05 drive 1 month now. I've burned alot of brands until now. NO COASTERS. only prob for me is the compatibility thing with set top players. The best brand officially proved for dvd burning is Taiyo Yuden. I dont know if u can find this kind of brand, but its the best, and plays in all the players I've tested. For now I write at 2x, no 4X Taiyo yet.

I have the same drive as you and have used Princo brand 2x media with great success. No coasters yet at all, and they have all played perfecty on each of the 3 DVD Players I own.
