SVCD and screen 16:9 is this standard?

I use iMovie to make wide screen movies from my video camera. For monitoring the SVCD I use or MMT or ffmpegX (OSX 10.2.4) with the option 16:9 on
The .MPG is in both cases OK, but on TV i get vibrating pictures.
Am I doing something wrong ?
In format 4:3 everything is OK
I use the standards for SVCD : video rate 2500kbps, PAL ...
In both cases , I use VCD Builder to make menus and the images for burning with Toast.

These problems are usually caused by interlace/de-interlace conflicts. I'm not sure which you should be using for your output, but which ever one you are currently using, try the other...
