CCE: Can it read DivX 5.02 AVI Files?

I am trying to convert DivX AVI files with CCE. It appears it cannot read the AVI file. When Encoding strarts, it stops with an error message: Read 0 bytes, expected 8.

However, I do have one DivX encoded AVI file that CCE reads. However, I cant' tell what is so special about it and CCE can read it (so that I can have others encoded this way). I tried constant quality, constant bitrate, changed the index frame insertion interval, but the result remains the same.

Any clues on that ?

1) Can WMP play all your DivX files? Check control panels to make sure that all your settings/codecs are installed/setup correctly.

2) Try frameserve to CCE w/ AVISynth.

WMP can play DivX files. All the codecs are properly installed. Tmpgenc, VirtualDUB, NewConcept, etc all read DivX fine.

It's just CCE I can't master yet. I tried frameserving. I can do it to Tmpgenc from VrtualDUB, tried CCE (with VirtualDUB) and CCE crashes. I suspect it's something to do with CCE, but can't figure out what.
