I was thinking of getting Premiere 6.5 but was wondering how good its Mpeg2 encoder was. I use Arcsoft Showbiz right now and it has the ligos encoder which is good but I notice it a little grainy like shot on film.

I second the motion. The current Premiere encoder does a very good job.

Is there a way to buy or just download the MainConcept encoder into my program?

    Hi jra11,

You can get the demo at www.mainconcept.com if you like it, it will only cost you $150 to get the license. The stand alone version will give you batch encoding.
