Not making a fuss, just want to know what I am missing ? I understand it will copy all the extra's, etc etc...So if that is what you are after, GREAT. Or perhaps the menu's and chapters. But all of this is still taking away from the movie itself. Every frame, every menu, chapter point, every directors self grandizing and every language version takes space. Space that has to come from some where, namely, the movie itself.

Basically, I use the IFOEDIT, Rempeg , IFO edit then Nero and I SQUEEZE as much Movie and AC3 audio as I can . So if I am at 82% or 89% or 66%, it is not because of extra's.

I WOULD however like the chapters because if I stop a movie, it is a REAL pain to get back if I watch it on another day....SIgh.

So am I missing something here ???? If I am I will try it out as I downloaded a few days ago......Help me to see the light !!! LOL

    Best to all

  2. if you just want the movie, rip just the main movie vobs and create ifos then run instant copy.
you will have your chapters and will be of better quality than rmpeg can produce.

  3. The fuss is due to the quality...approaches CCE without that huge cost. DVD2DVDR and DVD2SVCD both with CCE will make DVD-Rs. I said it before if DVD2ONE gave me the same quality as Instant Copy then DVD2ONE would be all I'd use. I could careless about menus, etc. I was excited as anyone when DVD2ONE came out but my tests showed way too many macroblocks for my liking. For others it's totally satisfactory.

If your satisfied with REMPEG video quality then stick with it. Myself I'm sticking with SVCDs with CCE 4 pass VBR for now but just like fooling around with these two new transcoding programs.

  4. Instant copy is good. DVD2One is OK, but fast. CCE is wonderful, however I don't believe anyone on these forums has paid a cent for it which is sad. Rempeg is crap, don't even bother.

Okay, I will give it a shot...Might be worth 49 dollars if I can get the menus and chapters without fuss...

you can keep your chapters without the menu.
Open ifoedit. Then open the VTS_01_0.IFO(or the one that goes with the video vobs),Next double click on VTS_PGCITI,Then after that click on VTS_PGC_1,then go Tools > save cell times. Then when you author your dvd with ifoedit where its says scene change/chapters load the cell times text then author.

Now you will be able to skip forward chapters.

Ahhh yes.But you see one of the cool features about InstantCopy is you can customize everything. You don't have to keep all that unescessary stuff if you don't want to.

You can either downsize the extras you don't want to a low filesize or just get rid of them completly, freeing up the filesize for the movie. You can also choose to get rid of certain audio tracks as well.

Getting rid of extras completely can leave you with all sorts of navigational problems or worse a non working DVD.

Wrong.I've already backed up a few dvds so far with InstantCopy and i did not keep all the extras.Stuff like trailors for other movies i de-selected so they would not be included on the disc.

The resulting burned DVD-R works fine. The only time menu navigation screws up,is when i go into the extras section where the trailors were and click on one of them. But since i removed the trailors ofcoarse it won't work.

  10. When I drop extras using Instant Copy and then try to select them in my set top DVD player, you see the button change colors (like normal) and then the menu just stays there. No crash... No navigational nightmare. You just navigate elsewhere like normal. Pretty nice.
