After long experience with Tmpgenc, I was indulged to try CCE. I downloaded the trial version and tried with some cut clips to test speed, size and quality.

I have read the manual and (think) am doing everything by the book.

The program seems to work as it should (no error messages and such), however everything produced is a (correct length) black movie.

I suppose I don't have a problem with codecs (no tmpgenc output caused any problem in the past) and media player doesn't complain with the mpeg2 stream loaded.

    Any clues?

What options are you using in CCE? Also, what version? Last but not least, what are you dropping into it? Is it an AVI, or frameserved?

Sorry for not catching up for a few days, I was off.

I am trying CCE version 2.5 SP. I am using a DivX 5.02 file encoded at 10mbps CBR. I tried quite a few different options, but since I could not get any output, I reverted to the basics: MPEG-2 CBR @ 6mbps, selected to output elementary streams and produced a video and an audio stream.

The result (for a full length movie) was 130 MB of black frames. I have also tried VBR (2 passes) and MPEG-1, with the same results.
