Since my Denon 2500 being very picky with home grown (Sony dru500) dvd's it also started rejecting normal commercial dvd's (history of britain series), working only after switching the player on and off dozens of times. In short this machine has become my enemy.
Before smashing it to bits I would like to know of a suitable replacement. I bought the Denon in a region2 and region1 configuration and have both type dvd-s on the shelf. I am probably looking for some brand that worries more about compatibilty than some arrogant high profile brand, but still like to see nice picture quality on my arrogant high profile Sony Wega tv.
May cost a bit.

From today a Philips Q50 is nicely fitting the description. Particularly soundwise completely dwarfing the old Denon.
