I have tried for a week now making a copy of Monty Python's the Holy Grail. Each try has produced an out of sync copy. Sometimes the sync is fine at the beginning of the movie but slips out in the middle of the movie. Sometimes it is out of sync all the way through.

I downloaded forty-two last night and began a trial with that program but I stopped it after 12 hours because who wants to wait 30 hours for a DVD that doesn't need to be reduced?

The video is 3.8 GB and the audio is 295 MB. Any help syncing would be very much appreciated. I have tried a multitude of methods that I have been reading on this forum and so far none has worked

for DVDs <4.3 GB, i have been successful in using OSeX to rip the elementary streams (video and audio) then putting those directly into Sizzle to create a DVD image.

the movies that i've been successful in backing up to DVD-R (without having to transcode) are:

    • spiderman
    • enough
    • not another teen movie
    • and a bunch of my daughter's disney/animated movies (ice age, lilo and stitch, etc.)

there shouldn't be any audio sync problems at all with this method since transcoding isn't needed.

depending on the speed of your system, it should take approximately 30 minutes for OSeX, 30 minutes for Sizzle and 20 or so minutes to burn (at 2x).

accurate transcoding (sans audio sync problems) naturally takes longer.

    hope this helps...good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I did try the "sizzle" method on "Holy Grail" it was out of sync in the middle of the movie. Thanks for the heads-up on the other movies. I own some of those but have not tried them yet.
