I did use Smartripper and DVD2AVI and then frameserve to TMPGEnc for the best quality VCD's

I have just started using CladDVD XP but with longer films the Wav file is over 2GB so wont work with TMPGEnc?

I know I can get around this by doing half the vobs with DVD2AVI seperately.

    Is there a better way?

Can I do it better with CladDVD XP??

If you have a 2Gb limit you probably have your HD formatted as FAT16.
If your running a version of WIN98 you can convert to FAT32 which should raise the file limit to 4Gb's.

A lot of applications have problems with files over 2GB because they use 32-bit signed integers to keep track of file offsets (others have problems at 4GB because they use 32-bit unsigned integers).

If you're the kind who likes to create one big MPEG file and then cut it down to CD size you can probably extract the AC3 (choose "demux" instead of "decode" in DVD2AVI) and use besweet to convert that directly to MP2. I think besweet can cut the audio file too, but I haven't used it for that.

I did try Besweet but it did not work? I can't remember why? I only have a Duron 800/265mb so most programs lock up when trying to convert or cut a file this big.
