    Hello,

I've a recorded 2GB MPG file from a Sony Camcorder. I want to split this into smaller files with smaller sizes so that I can upload them to YouTube. What are the best softwares that could help on this?

I've tried Windows MovieMaker 2 and CyperLink PowerDirector 7, and for unknown reason, they both got crashed when I open the 2GB file or try to start editing!

MPEG StreamClip is freeware and should be able to do that. Or payware, VideoReDo, MPEG-VCR or others here: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/video-editors-mpg-dvd

But you should have no problems opening a 2GB MPEG file.

    And welcome to our forums.

    Hello,

    Thanks redwudz

I found a great small application that costs only $55 which does everything I want. It's called Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate. I opened the 2GB mpg video file in it, and then choose to convert it to flv and to split it into 40MB parts. It does the conversation plus the splitting. Very fast and very good. I recommend it to anyone.

    Thanks a lot
