  1. After trying a wide format of video capture settings, I was getting frustrated with the fact that several programs would not begin to process my video files. However, when I switched the audio to direct copy (no compression), everything worked fine. Since this is happening in different programs, I'd assume there is something wrong with my audio compression files.
    In VDUB, for example, I used several different compression codecs including divX audio, MP3-audio, and Windows Media, all giving me the same problem (VDUB would open up the processing window, compress the first batch of frames and then stop indefinately).
    Anyone heard of this problem, I'd really appreciate some help, or simply how I might go about repairing files pertaining to general audio compression. Thanks.

    Have you tried the Virtual Dub MPEG-2 version? It is supposed to support AC3 as well. Look in the Tools section.
