I'm trying to make some motion menus in DVDSP, and this requires an MPEG2 video file with four small videos composited onto a solid color background, for the buttons. Can anyone tell me what software is capable of compositing four small video clips onto a static background, and exporting to either MPEG2, or any QuickTime compatible video format? Some tips on how to accomplish this feat would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to accomplish something similar to this using Final Cut Express. I made my movie in FCE, exported as .mov and used FFmpeg to convert to mpeg2 (keep elemental streams checked). Add m2v (mine had no sound track to it) to DVDSP and make your buttons.
    Hope this helped.

  3. I managed to do this with Quicktime Pro only. It will let you import the still and add imported video elements (.mov in my case). It will also allow you to resize the video elements and move them around. You are best off adding any text to the still using Photoshop. The final can then be exported to mpeg2 and imported into DVDSP. Hey I did it, had fun and went back to iDVD.

In QT Pro, how do you get the background pic to display during the entire length of the video I added to it?
*edit*: Nevermind, just figured it out . . . I'm golden. Thanks for the help!
