i got a file and i go to the properties and it says file type is divx.
it does play in my players and it shows up in gspot.
what would be the purpose of a divx file?
i cant do a google search![]()

A DivX file is a DivX encoded file, pretty self explanatory. When installing the DivX codec, it creates a registry entry for it's own file type with the extension *.div or *.divx. So, all files with *.div or *.divx are known as DivX files to Windows.
