    My TMPGEnc MPEG2 encoder trial has expired. What other programs work as well?

  3. True to that. CCE costs something like 2500, Neros Mpeg2 encoder (and mpeg for that matter) sucks really bad

    TMPGEnc is a steal for the quality. Buy it (I did) and I'm not regretting it

    I agree with the TMPGEnc assertion. It is still one of my favorite encoders. However, if you are little short, the Tools section has an MPEG-2 version of Virtual Dub, and it is freeware.
