loocking for firmware philips

I can't read svcd with my dvd philips 957. I know that I must upgrade the firmware 8.03 by the 8.11 . I've allready take a look at Philips syndicate but it wasn't! Can someone tell me were can i find it?

I don't know if 8.11 is OK since it is not posted at: http://philips.ianc.net/ (their forums are currently ofline).

My 957 plays selfmade SVCDs with 8.03, but I am having trouble with DVD+R.

I think there was some issue with 8.11 thats why I did not use it yet. I hope the philips syndicate becomes fully operational soon, there should be all the info on this subject.

I was on this site and i ve upgrade my dvd with the firmware 8.11.
But it doesn't work beter!
I've already the same prob that i have with the old firmware 8.03.
The picture freeze sometimes! It seen a little beter...
It think i must change the servo software.
You can see that on the same site it the pdf on the first line:

My problem now is that i don't know where and how can i upgrade it!
it think than i must take to the Philips technical service!

Know for your question about the dvd+r it didn't test it!
But i ve test with a dvd-r and it doesn't go!

So if some one can help me it will be very nice!

Another rem about the firmware on philips syndicate.
The first firmware 7.26 doesn't go on the dvd957!
If you don't want have the same prob as me... DON'T UPGRADE YOUR DVD WITH IT!

DVD+R/W now work on my 957 too, because I just updated my authoring software Studio8. More or less successfully I have used all kinds of software for VCD and SVCD in the past. But with Studio8 all VCD and SVCD ran perfectly on my 957 from the first disk on I created.
Besides player and burner hardware the influence of the creating software should not be underestimated.
Now I’m able to create all formats for my 957 and I didn't even have to touch its firmware (8.03). Maybe you should try disks created by a friend or colleague with different software.
