  1. I was wondering if anyone could tell me which produces better results as to quality for episodic television discs. Now that dvd2one now does full disc copy I was curious. Please, only replies from people who have actually used both.

    Thanks

I would say--and yes I have used both--that ultimately Instant Copy could produce slightly better quality from a visual perspective. It also gives you extra control to strip unwanted audio streams, thus allowing you to devote more space to the video portion. This can substantially increase the quality. I sure hope the next copy of dvd2one has the stream stripping feature in the "full movie" mode. There is also a product DVD95copy which I have not tried. I tend to use DVD2one more. I love the speed--20 minutes to transcode! But, if I want the features and menu I would still use Instant copy.

DVD95Copy is my preferred program for episode DVD's. It allows you to select what streams you keep and more importantly corrects the ifo file to reflect the proper audio stream for auotoplay in your DVD player.
DVD2ONE requires MIE or full copy mode. The MIE method dosen't correct the ifo file and requires you to keep the first audio stream.

  4. I did a Sopranos set in both Instant Copy and in the New DVD2One and I have to say the DVD2One looked better. THe IC version I kept only the 2.0 stereo and the eps with at about 72% and I could see noticible artifacts.

The DVD2one version I used Ifoedit to strip everything but the 5.1 (So it was actually larger I wanted to do the 2.0 but could not get the audio mapped correctly) then I transcoded it using the full copy option. The image looks great with noticibly less artifacting and even 5.1 sound.

So as long as you Ifoedit the extra streams I give the nod to DVD2One.
